Emer and I have been busy making a lot of fantastic improvements to our place. We've also decided to return to using the original name of the house "the stop". This name was used in the 1930s and 1940s when the then owner ran a grocery shop from what is now the sitting room. We always preferred the original name and now we have adopted it it seems a very fitting title for a B and B!

Dining Room
We LOVE food at Kilcullen House and we're always tweeking the dining room to create the most beautiful surroundings for our guests to enjoy breakfast. Lot's of new artworks in here plus a few self renovated chairs to park yourself on!
Room 11
We've done a lot of work in Room 11 - we installed a large walk in shower in the en suite which required some serious building work all expertly realized by my father in law and myself! There's new furniture built by me and two of my paintings from a few years back.
Room 4
OK folks here's a photo of the recently completed Room 4. We're treating each room as a project in it's own right - I've made most of the furniture myself and we've been selecting specific artworks for each room!
In this picture you can see a watercolour by me, an oil painting by Emer and a beautiful poster from the design museum in London.

Our basil farm!
We grow all our own basil before bashing it up with a little chilli, salt, pepper and extra virgin olive oil - delicious on top of our cooked breakfasts.
Peter's Connemara
Canadian painter Peter Hendrick painted these during his recent stay - Peter it was a pleasure having you in the house!
